I’m having trouble utilizing the LG .htaccess generator. Here’s what I’ve done:

  1. Downloaded the files and installed both files in their respective locations (extensions and language / english)

  2. Added a blank .htaccess file in my root directory and set the permissions to 644

  3. Under configuration:

- Enable LG .htaccess Generator for this site? Yes - The server directory where your .htaccess will be generated: Set to correct path: /www/eh#####/public_html/ (#### replaces actual site numbers)

  1. Clicked “Submit and Generate”

What I immediately get afterwards is an “Internal Server Error.” At this point, I can’t access the site again until I remove the .htaccess file.

My hosting is at EngineHosting (a great host by the way.)

Any ideas?

The first step would be to check your error logs to see why information is there as it might give you some clues.

What happens if you change the permission of .htaccess to 666?
