There’s another extension called ‘BN Title Changer’ that does the same thing, but it hasn’t been updated in awhile. And your UI looks better!

What’s there to update?

But anyway, glad to see there’s one that’s multi-language capable. I’ve never even had a request to build a multi-language site, so there’s never been a personal need for that in my plugin.

Yes, I was used this ext. before, but unfortunately the BN Title Changer don’t really want work with MSM + this ext’s have a different working methods - BN works by JS, MX makes changes on page in the moment of creating in the system.

p.s. by the way - for Multilanguage I used Mx title with another ext which helps to create Multilanguage label for customs fields. I will publish it later.

Fair enough, Chris. 😊 BN Title Changer is pretty simple. I’ve been using it for months now, it’s saved me a lot of documentation headaches! Just wanted to put the link here in case anyone came along wanting to compare/contrast.

It also looks like this one requires PHP 5+, and i think that yours is PHP 4 safe, isn’t it? So that’s an important difference.

Actually I just don’t have PHP 4 for testing, but I don’t think that used something really unsupportable by PHP4.

Hm, that’s interesting. I’d considered doing that myself. I think it’s a great approach. I think I used the JS method just to make sure it’d be easy to update in the future if anything changed under the hood in EE, which is probably not really an important concern anyway. To be fair to Adrienne L. Travis above… I never wanted to bulid something that needed any maintenance or updating 😊

I haven’t yet even tried my extension with MSM (though my own site is MSM, so I guess I’ll have to get around to updating it) Anyway, I don’t mean thread hijack, I just wanna say it’s great that there’s one out there that does the job for msm & multi-language. Good add.

Hi Max.

Are there any plans to port this over to EE2? I thought that you might be able to edit the Title field natively in EE2 as there’s a little pencil icon next to the fields when you show the Toolbar, but clicking in doesn’t do anything for me (unless I’m hitting a browser issue!) so I guess not.

Thanks.

yeah, I have the plans(actual – I really need it too), but it’s still not possible to do it right way because most part of hooks is still out of EE2. Waiting for next EE2 build

Thanks for letting me know - good to see it’s in your plans when the right hooks are available.
