I’m running 3.0.5 and still run into an annoying issue with grid on the backend that I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing?
When adding content to a grid field, the validation frequently fires prematurely marking a field with valid content as having an error. Sometimes going back and clicking the field works to clear that, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I have to try to submit before I can go back and click the field for the validation to see the content in the field.
Regardless, it’s getting tiresome when trying to tab through and be efficient entering data, and instead I have to randomly click around the fields just to submit the entry because it keeps marking valid data in fields (basic text in field formatted for text etc.) with “There was a problem with one or more Grid fields.”
It’s a terrible UX through all 5 updates and before I try reporting a bug, I wanted to confirm others are experiencing it. At this stage I have had to remove the fields from being required just to get these entries made.
This sounds like a bug to me. Could you please report it in the bug tracker (https://support.ellislab.com/bugs) so we can have it triaged and potentially fixed.
The validation wasn’t intended to be overly aggressive, but it should be validating on blur as you work through the form. It should not be marking valid content as invalid however.
I’m working with ee 3.1.2 and am having the same problems still. Is there a fix for this, as I can’t hand this site over to a client with an issue like this
I’m running transcribe(ee harbour) and supersearch(solspace) At the moment I’ve just had no end of bugs and am wondering is EE3 really production ready?
