Site Offline question - Have to log into the front-end site first (not backend admin) before I can see it in offline mode.

How Do I?

Can someone tell me if this is correct.

Currently to view my site when it is in offline mode, I have to:

1) log into the site from the front end (using my admin role) 2) Go into the admin backend and select “Is Site on” = “NO” 3) then I’m able to go and browse the site as an admin in offline mode.

I would think I could be logged into the backend as an admin and go browse the site in offline mode w/o logging into the front-end.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, to clarify you just want to view the site while it’s offline (not viewable to public)? If you are logged in as a SuperAdmin you can view the site when no one else can. If you wish other member groups to have the same ability, grant it to them that in the Control Panel within ‘Member Groups’.

Looks like EE (the front page) doesn’t recognize you as being logged in. Are you using cookies only authentication?
