It would be great if the entry manager filters remembered the filters you selected. Once you go into a post and save, it redirects to the unfiltered list. This can be frustrating if you’re editing multiple entries and trying to keep track through the filters.

If you would like any clarification feel free to ask.

I just noticed this had changed yesterday. A nice time-saving feature missing from EE2. Please re-implement.

And while you’re at it… could you please move the Keywords and Search Entries buttons back down with the Filters again.

Two years later and still this isn’t fixed? Search for product name prefix. Edit. Search for product name prefix. Edit. Yech.

New bulk edit in 4.2 only lets you change core fields apparently.

New bulk edit in 4.2 only lets you change core fields apparently.

Bulk edit added in 4.1 lets you change metadata like older versions used to. We might open this up to additional fields at a later time, but getting the behavior and the UI right is a little tricky. If you have multiple entries selected from different channels they may use different fields, so indicating to the content editor that they aren’t seeing everything that they could is tricky and confusing. And even if they are using the same custom fields, deciding what to display for the content is also a problem since you’re making a destructive edit but can’t see the existing content to verify what you’re getting ready to destroy.

All of this led to the addition of the sequential Edit feature in 4.2. It will cycle through all selected entries for you and let you make whatever changes you need to each entry, while still being able to see and review all existing content. Two different workflows for two different purposes. You do not need to perform your search multiple times, the sequential editor will remember and communicate your position in your list of entries you need to edit all together.

The filters mentioned in the OP will be back soon. 😊

The documentation for the Entry Manger suggests that the keyword field works by searching “entries by title, respecting the current filters”

https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/cp/publish/edit.html#id1

But it looks like it actually search ALL the fields, which can be kind of great… unless you’re actually just wanted it to search in the title and the word is commonly used enough that multiple entries show up, obscuring your ability to see the Title.

It would be nice if in front of the keywords field you could spec where you wanted to search… options could be “the title” or “everywhere” to start perhaps.
