I have just upgraded from 2.1.4 to 3.2.0, and in the control panel the glyphicon images are not appearing for me or for the others on the team. Is there some permissions setting or something? The Themes folder does exist, and is where the CSS seems to be looking for it.
See images for examples.
Thanks!
Terry
Did you make sure the themes/ee/ folder is in place and was updated and that permissions are in order? There’s actually a section in the docs dealing with Missing Glyphicon Icon UI Elements, but this might not apply in your case.
Hi, Ingmar - long time since we last conversed! (Years!) Good to see you still here!
Yes, the folder is in place and all permissions are set.
We’ve all been through so many update checks that it may be a deep browser cache cleaning is needed. I have one computer that wasn’t involved in the earlier tests that is showing the icons, so I’m going to have everyone test that. We all did do a regular cache cleaning, but perhaps fonts are not updated by merely cleaning the data cache.

I believe it was a browser cache problem, though it is difficult to be certain it was not something involving the DNS, since we just switched over the site to be live at a new server.
It took doing what I call a “deep cache flush” when we clear out the browser cache,
(using “Everything” setting on Firefox),
clear data,
cookies,
offline website data,
and site preference
or
(using “since beginning of time” on Chrome)
cached images and files,
cookies and other site and plugin data,
hosted app data .
Then shut down the browser, restart the computer, make coffee, and have a chocolate. That should bring the icons back in the EE back end. (Well, I made coffee…)
I just tried that on my machines missing them - the upstairs computer that was never involved in all the tests shows them fine, so I figured it must be a browser cache problem.
Thanks for the quick response, Ingmar!

After investigating the matter with my hosting company, we’ve determined that if clearing browser caches and EE caches does not work, even going so far as to whitelist the folks having the problems, that it must be due to the router/modem DNS cache needing to be cleared.
I had the two having the most problems call their ISP, but they got low-level techs on the phone and did not ask to go to “a supervisor” so those clowns they spoke to did not know what to do. (Didn’t even know what clearing DNS cache meant!) So, still verifying this is the situation!
There’s my update! Anyone have further insights or ideas?
Terry
This is most likely the case (and solution): Missing Glyphicon UI Elements
