EE 3.x - Import from EE 2.x to EE 3.x all Snippets

I started with a fresh EE 3.3.0 installation on my localhost. However, I would like to bring over ALL the Snippets that I am using on my Production website to my brand new localhost EE 3.3.0 site. I exported all the Snippets from the one site, imported them into the EE 3.3.0 site but I do not see them anyplace within EE.

I thought I had seen a note that Snippets had been replaced, but Snippets are referenced in the 3.3.0 Manual and it doesn’t appear to have been deprecated.

1) Are Snippets still being used ? a) Where do I find them in EE 3.3.0 ? 2) If they are no longer being used, what has replaced them ? a) How do I bring over the existing Snippets into this new object (Table Name) ?

Thanks!!!!

It looks like Snippets are now called Template Partials in the EE control panel. The documentation on Snippets says this:

You can create and edit Snippets at Developer Tools ‣ Template Partials.

If Snippets are indeed the same as Template Partials, then the documentation is confusing and really ought to be clarified.

Assuming that you’re saving templates as files, when you create a Template Partial, it gets saved to this folder (for the default site):

system/user/templates/default-site/_partials

Thanks for the reply!

What I found out late late last night is that I can move all the old snippets into the exp_snippets (replace exp with whatever prefix you chose) table. However, I need to perform this function BEFORE I add any new “Partial Templates” due to the auto-increment ID.

I currently do NOT save any of the Templates as files as I personally believe the site is much more secure staying with this approach. I could very easily be delusional with this thought, but oh well. 😊
