This was allowed in EE2. It took the forums to request and feature request it to get it there. But it seems it has gone backa step again for EE3.

To explain - i want to use Pages module. So i do not want URL title to be visible. How can i hide it?

Thanks

This is by design: none of the required fields are allowed to be hidden. For a channel that you are using the Pages module for, you can collapse the URL title field in your Channel Layout, and even move it to a separate tab so your content author’s primary editing goals are front and center.

Hi Seth, Yes it was by design before in EE2 too and you ended up bowing to logic on this!

But lets look at your thought process. You can make it smaller, tuck it away in the corner, and effectively try and hide it… But not actually hide it… I understand it is critical part of EE as i am a long term user… But in the same way Entry ID (channel, etc) is not a visible field, so could URL title be hidden too (by option).

From my perspective i understand. But can you image the users/editors perspective - why do i have two URL’s for this, whats the difference between URL title and pages URL… are they not the same.

I am certainly not looking forward to those conversations, and the lost time it will cause. As i say, i am pretty sure there were reasons EE2 allowed the hiding of this field after much debate and feature requests.

I appreciate the feedback. I have passed this along to the rest of the team.
