wmv files can not be syncronized

I’m having trouble getting a .wmv file uploaded. When trying to do it through the EE 3 control panel, it was getting denied based on file type. I then ftp’d it to the proper directory. I can now see it in the file manager. There is an option there to sync but then it says “Some files could not be synchronized. file.wmv: The file type you are attempting to upload is not allowed.”

There was nothing in the apache error log so I assume the server doesn’t have a problem with it.

Any thoughts?
