Title not an option when configuring a select list field group

I noticed today that when create a field group and use the select List option for the field, when I select the option to use the contents of a channel for the list, that it doesn’t let me use the “Title” field as an option… it appears it only allows you to use the fields you create.

Is there a way to use the “title” field from a channel for a Select list?
