How to create a new page (NEWBIE)
How Do I?
I just downloaded the free version of EE to try out and put a POC together. I’m struggling to even get 1 page just to work. I created a new Channel called “Pharmacy”. I then went to “Edit” and selected “Pharmacy” and clicked the “Create New In Pharmacy” button. I filled out all the information in the “Publish” tab, and just put the word “test” in the “Page Content” section. I went to the “Pages” tab and gave a “Pages URI” of /pharmacy and for “Template”, i selected “index” under my “pharmacy” template (which i just created a new one and copied the “about” template). If I try to go to http://localhost/ee/pharmacy, i get the below error:
Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
What am I missing? Again, I am brand new to EE.

Nevermind, I found that the URL I was going to needed to index.php/pharmacy in order to see the pages. is there a way to not have index.php in the URL?

Glad you got it working so far. Just a word of advice, the “Pages” module really is for special cases, probably best to get acquainted with the Channel module for now.
Well, I created a Channel and then went to Edit and clicked the button to Add new to Pharmacy. When I did this, I still couldn’t see my page. What did I miss? Are you saying I should not use the “Pages” tab?

You probably should read up on templates and check out the examples in the docs. Don’t try to run before being able to walk, is all I’m saying.
