Hey guys. Just wondering if EllisLab are working on an updated design for the EE website?

A lot of customers want to check out EE when I tell them about it, coz they haven’t heard of it. They nearly all quote Wordpress when we get talking about which CMS to use, and I always push EE as my go-to solution.

I can see the current design has been evolved over the years and added to, which is fine, but I’m not sure it’s bold enough or has enough wow-factor to impress these days. Plus the “ExpressionEngine” and “EE” logo/branding doesn’t really come across enough for me.

I know that the design and development of EE itself takes priority - which is critical for existing users - but to attract new users and customers, the box/packaging has to be mega shiny and slick first-off.

Any thoughts?

I think a microsite that we can send to clients is definitely something that would be beneficial for all. Having said that, nothing stops us from such a showcase on our own business’ websites for our clients 😊

Yes a client-focused “About EE ” microsite might be a good idea - although it would mean additional work for EllisLab to keep it up to date. I think the main EE website homepage should be able to do the trick, to give our clients confidence that EE is a slick, powerful and long-term solution for their CMS.

I agree that us designers/developers should be evangelical about EE (which I am) but sometimes clients like to know more - and it can be difficult to shout above the Wordpress/Magento/etc ‘noise’ which is out there.

Yaayy!! round of applause Looking great. Huge improvement. Loving the colours and shiny/glowing bits. Nice work guys. 😊

PS. The Pro Network link the right-hand submenu is broken on this page. It seems fine elsewhere though. https://expressionengine.com/showcase/kamalani
