Related Entries changing sequence on Save

I’m using Relationships to sequence my Pages into a parent Section menu. However, the sequence of my Pages is sometimes (often) being jumbled when I add another Page and Save the Entry. Why is this happening? EE 3.4.2

It seems to be a similar issue to this post: https://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/248941/
Although I’m getting the related entries ‘shuffled’ even if I add a new entry to the Relationship list.
