Other authors' entries are showing on the Relationship drop-down field

How Do I?

Hi all,

I have setup a specific-group members’ to only see the posts they have authored. On “Edit” these posts are showing fine. However, if I have a “Relationship” custom-field, everyone’s posts are showing for a particular Channel.

Is this a bug? Or there’s a workaround it?

What do you mean “to only see the posts they have authored”? Which member preference specifically? I can think of a number of use cases where authors would be allowed to select related content that they have no permissions to edit themselves.

Hey Derek,

You know how on “Members” settings you can setup for users to view/edit their posts only. In other words, if they go to a particular Channel, they will only be able to view entries they have created in that specific Channel.

I need the same thing happening with the Relationship drop-down / They can only view the entries they have authored in the Relationship drop-down.

The client has many members that need to manage their posts only / hence the request.

I’m not sure if this is a bug / or deliberate? — It could have been overwritten in the Channel Field, by setting the “Relationship” to show entries authored by the specific author only.

Does this make sense to you?

The current behavior is intentional, as a content author may need to relate their content to others’ content that is curated by another department, etc. But I also understand your request. I’ll forward your feedback to the rest of the team.

I’ve never actually needed to do this but having a setting on the field seems to make sense to show only entries authored by the current user.
