Fatal error Memory size when trying to delete and entry in control panel

EE 3.4.4 in back end trying to delete an entry and when I click submit I am getting this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 196605 bytes) in /homeuser/admin/ee/legacy/database/drivers/mysqli/mysqli_connection.php on line 118

What is going on and why can’t I remove an entry?
