File upload from publish/edit forms does not work?

When attempting to upload a file or image from my publish form I don’t get the choice to upload anything.

A file browser gives me the possibility to select already uploaded files , but no option for uploading new files.

Upload works perfect if I use the File Manager. That is a little inconvenient for end users.

The version in use is 3.4.3

Any suggestions?
