EE 2, new MySQL version breaks saving content

How Do I?

We’re still on EE 2.11.2 – First, I see there is a 2.11.5 but I can’t find a changelog for it.

Anyway we moved our site to a newer OS/MySQL version and are encountering an issue where libraries/api/Api_channel_entries.php line 1514 is causing a SQL error.

Basically the insert is trying to put ” into an Integer field. This worked on older MySQL versions, ” was treated as a NULL. But in newer MySQL this throws an error:

Incorrect integer value: ” for column ‘field_id_34’ at row 1

I know (well I say “I know” but what I really mean is, Stack Exchange told me!!) that I can change the configuration of MySQL to fix this, but I don’t have the access to do so, and I’d rather fix the issue rather than mask it.

Does anyone know how I’d do that? Is it possibly fixed in 2.11.5? Really wish I could find a change log for the new version.

Thanks, I was looking in the documentation https://docs.expressionengine.com/v2/installation/version_notes.html which stops at 2.9! (Linked from “Version Update Notes” on this page: https://docs.expressionengine.com/v2/index.html)

Sadly it doesn’t say anything about this problem though.
