Image orientation is wrong when uploaded from iOS

Hi all, I’m working on a site which allows users to upload pics from mobile devices. When those pics are displayed using my EE templates on a phone the image orientation is correct with the top being the top regardless of how the pic was taken. However, when that same image, using the same template is displayed by Safari on a desktop the image is sideways or upside-down. After poking around the internet for an answer I determined that this problem can be fixed in the upload process but EE has no settings to manage this. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this in EE? Thank!
