Hi Erick! You must first upgrade to v2, which will make necessary modifications to your database, and then you can proceed on to v3.

Thx Derek!

I have problem: i install EE2 Core (not standard) and convert my base (EE1 Standard base). Now I see an error: «Site Error: Unable to Load Site Preferences; Invalid Preference Data». I check 10 times all config files (config.php, database.php, 2 index.php and admin php) — all good (parametrs and rights). I try this way: https://expressionengine.com/forums/archive/topic/212060/after-upgrade-site-error-unable-to-load-site-preferences-invalid-preference-data/P15 (Unserialize), but everything is as before. :(

I try to install a completely new installation of EE2 Core and EE3 Standard and everything works fine. The problem is not accessing the database. :-(

Hi Erick, to upgrade to v2, you would not do a fresh installation or attempt any manual conversion from your v1 database. You also cannot upgrade a licensed version to the free version. Please see the instructions for upgrading from version 1 to version 2.

It’s only for test. Or the database converter a different in the core and standard versions? I think they are the same. I just do not have EE2 Standard. I buy EE1, and EE3 only. 😊

If you purchased an upgrade to v3, you can download a copy of the full version of v2 in your store purchases page. When you click the Download button, select “version 2.11.7”.

I should note that with your other issue, upgrading will likely fail the data conversion, because PHP is going to be getting content from MySQL with the wrong encoding. You need to address that issue first.
