Upgrading from 2.21 to newest 3x - trying to clear probs first
How Do I?
hey EE world, i’m just about to make the plunge and upgrade two of my sites from 2x to 3x, and i have a few probs that i don’t want to turn into big problems during upgrading.
currently my site is running: v2.2.1 - Build: date 20110705
- this is an error when i go to edit a member group’s permissions, i click the arrow to see options, and the first thing that pops up are these php warnings.

my question is a, can i just not worry about this and it will be fixed during upgrade, or… is this some kind of error that needs to be dealt with first.
- i removed all add-ons except for Google Maps for ExpressionEngine 2.3. when i try to remove this plug-in i get an error: An error occurred removing the following plugin: Gmap
again, will this be fixed during upgrading, or will this muck me up and how can i fix?
- and lastly, does removing add-ons prior to upgrading mean that the corresponding files from the 3rd party folder need to be removed, or is just removing them in the CP enough?
solved the gmaps problem by removing it from the third party plugins….
i’m up and running, and upgraded. it seemed i had an ftp problem with all files not being uploaded. changed to Filezilla and SFTP and install worked.
Welcome aboard! 2.2 to v3 is a big leap!
