Hi,

Today I create dynamic sites using EE3. Already for a decade. These days web apps (read sites with no refreshing) are becoming popular as an alternative for creating websites… and I don’t wanna miss the boat. I was looking at Angular.js as a framework for making web apps. But how can I connect this with expression engine3? Are there add-ons to do this? Or are there better frameworks for creating web apps then angular? thanks H.

ExpressionEngine manages your content in a database, and is front end agnostic. You should be able to to use whatever front end framework you want without needing an add on. Is there something specific you are attempting that is not working?

Hi James, thank you for your reply

well is exactly what I had in mind, use EE as a content manager… just looking voor some good tutorials or docs. Or people who have experience with it. There is nothing here on EE itself (read: not found yet) I read about angular.js as a front-side(client-side) javascript framework. Just wonder how you connect EE output to angular. Of course I understand that’s not an easy question. I see more and more wordpress themes using this ‘web-app’ experience. For example: a list of newsitems left and it dynamically loads on the right when clicking, without refreshing the page. etc. I understand this is a front-end thing and have nothing to do we EE itself. But I wonder if I can still use EE’s template engine for those dynamic web-apps? Or some kind of API?

Hey. For doing a web app with Angular.js you’ll want an Rest API to retrieve data from expressionengine. I haven’t used it myself but people use Webservice addon to create these I think.
