Grid column widths

I know this has been asked already. But getting the Grid column widths to work would be a huge benefit. As it stands the field type has very limited use. Rich Text and Relationship fields automatically expand to fill as much space as possible squeezing plain text fields to show just a few characters. Could this be changed as a priority? Please?

In the latest version 3.5.11 you can set custom widths in pixels in the grid field setup form, that will be honored in the publish form, however some fields like relationships and RTE have preset minimums which cannot be overridden.
