Fluid Fields / Publish Page Layout

How Do I?

Are publish page layouts like EE3 still possible (admin defines the fields that are visible + the order, and the fields are visible as soon as the publish page loads)?

The EE blog on fluid fields and the user guide isn’t really helping me put them in context of the larger system.

Neither I nor my clients will want to do as much clicking as the demo on the EE blog shows just to fill out a new entry, so if the EE3 publish page layout has given way to this fluid fields thing, it’s a dealbreaker.

Well, fluid fields is a new field type (similar to the add-on Bloqs), and form layouts haven’t changed, so no deals should be broken 😊 Form layouts still exist in the documentation as before, for reference: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/cp/channel/layouts/index.html

If the fluid field type isn’t required for your deployments, then you don’t need to use it.
