Global variable is causing a shift in my sidebar nav

When updating a global variable for an existing page, the new GV contest is causing my right-hand navigation to show up at the bottom of the page instead of on the right. When I remove the GV form, the nav appears on the right as it should. The code on the GV is the same as far as I can tell.

Has anyone else experienced this or know why the site is reacting that way?
