Image upload shows a blank screen but pdf upload is okay

I need help, I try to upload files and if its pdf it uploads quite well but when its an image (.png / .jpg / .gif) it just gives me a blank white screen.
What could be the problem.

Could you give more information about your problem ?
How you upload your files? In the control panel? FTP?
The blank page appears in the control panel EE page, on the website page ??

Hello, This was happening on the expression engine dashboard side. So I figured out that the GD2 extension was not enable for php and even though the ee wizard said its optional, its best to have it enabled so it doesnt affect image uploading.
