EE2 to EE3 to EE5 upgrade path: where to get EE3 source code?

How Do I?

I know that EE5 is free as it is now Open Source, and I understand that EE2 cannot be upgraded to it directly – it has to be upgraded to EE3 first.

Which raises the following questions:

  1. Where can one acquire EE3.x source code from (presumably 3.5.17)?
  2. Given that EE3 was a commercially priced product, is there a charge for acquiring it?

Hoping someone can help.

Just login to your user account, and find a 2.x license you have and do the upgrade to v3. It will be $0.00, and you will get access to the v3 upgrade/install package. You should make sure you download the latest version of 2.x to have for your use too.

Cool, thanks. That was not obvious to me!
