only the admin user can see the content correctly
That is because your templates’ access settings are all set to not allow anyone but Super Admins to access them. See my previous response.
So what can prevent a Linux server to not load Javascript?
It’s not. I can load your JavaScript just fine. What happens if you browse to it directly? link to your JS
You also never answered the question of what browsers you have tried, and whether or not you disabled all local browser plugins or extensions. One time you mentioned that it got a different error, but you didn’t share what that error was. If you aren’t able to figure out what’s wrong, you’ll need to answer those questions for anyone to be likely able to help.
I can see this javascript link with any browser and device…. but when I go to access settings…. I cannot change the permissions.
See screenshot… it’s loading… forever. All permissions do the same if I go to members section for example.
I did two installs yesterday 5.1.2 and 5.1.3. Same result.
Looks like it may be something with your web server configuration. I replicate your errors when using https:// but everything is fine when accessed via http://. It looks like there is some compression module or something that is enabled and configured improperly that’s only affecting HTTPS.
Safari gives the error “The operation couldn’t be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 303.)”, which like the Chrome error seems to point to an error in communication between the server and browser. The application (ExpressionEngine in this case) isn’t really involved at all in that exchange.
It’s only happening on SLL though, so that should give your host enough info to track down the discrepancy between the SSL and non-SSL web server config, and fix the issue. It’s interesting that it only happens with resources loaded from an HTML page, and not when accessed directly, which is puzzling, but I’m not a server admin. That should put your sysadmin on the right track to figure it out. It could be that it’s still mod_security, and the host has different rules for SSL vs non-SSL but this server simply doesn’t let you overwrite those rules in .htaccess. But again, probably a question for your sysadmin who can look at the error logs associated with these requests and spot exactly what’s happening.
I can confirm that the issue is only related to https configuration. When I put the website in http mode only, everything works fine and I was able to setup correctly the permissions for the templates. I will investigate with the hosting provider (ovh, one of the leading European company).
Thanks for the great support and feedback. Expression Engine really rocks.
