Grouping Search Results?
How Do I?
surprisingly difficult to find an answer on this via search engines (irony!). hopefully a simple question:
i have a search function in the header of my website. a user enters a search phrase and clicks submit
Right now results are ordered by entry date, as is the default i believe. I’d like those results to be organized by channel or category group. Is this possible?
I don’t want a user to have to select parameters before searching.
Would I need an add-on for this functionality?
It would take an add-on and I’m not aware of one that does it. Low Search is pretty much the ‘go to’ when you need extended capabilities, but I don’t think it’s going to give you the presentation you want. It would be worth dropping Low an email to double check, though.
I think in most cases, the assumption is they’ll filter on category or channel as part of the search.
