Parse tags in email specialty templates

Hi All,

I know this is a subject that has been touched on in the past but I can’t find the answer I am looking for.

I have a site running on ee3 and want to get everything ready for an upgrade to ee4 > ee5.

At the moment I have a little plugin to be able to parse EE tags inside the system (specialty) templates and make them HTML. I use it to be able to parse the {embed} tag in the CP textarea of the email template. This is how I can get the email template as a file (by embedding a normal group/template file). In that template I can now use layouts for the reader and footer and parse ee tags.

It seems like a lot of hoops I have to jump through to get something to work that seems ‘standard’.

How is this done in ee4/5 and how can I best prepare for the upgrade from ee3 to ee5.

Thanks in advance.
