Bypass the standard EE Message Page after Email Contact Form submission

It would be nice to have the ability to completely bypass the standard EE system message page after submitting the {exp:email:contact_form} and use the return= parameter to display my own sent message.

We currently have a redirect= parameter that only allows a time value or “none” which only sets how long the user stays on the system message page. I was a little confused at first because I was setting redirect="none" and getting stuck on the system message page. I tried redirect="0" thinking that might work, but I still got the system message page for a second, before being redirected to my custom message page.

Doing a quick search of the forum, it looks like others would like this same ability.

Thank you, Bryan

Bit of a hack but you could render the page contents as hidden or offscreen while the message page loads and redirects
