How Do I?

I have setup a test site and have big trouble with URL/accessing the pages. I don’t know if it is that complicated or not possible.

I have three channels: - standard (Homepage, About, Contact) - training (Fitness, Equipment, Indoor) - personal (Me, Résumé)

The old I website (I’d like to convert to ExpressionEngine) had URL like example.com/about.html example.com/training/indoor.html example.com/personal/me.html

I can’t figure out, what I have to do, to recreate that URL scheme. The .html extension is not necessary though.

I tried different (or nothing at all) inputs in the Channel settings (“URL location of this channel.”). I also tried to create templates groups and templates. But I even can’t access pages on the top level. I always get an 404 error.

You can do it with the included pages add-on, if you need something more advanced look at the Structure add-on

Thanks. Both methods seem quite odd in my opinion. Never used a CMS that makes such an integral feature that complicated.

The Pages add-on isn’t very useful for clients and adds another step. 65 USD for a plugin handling one of the most basic tasks of an CMS isn’t what I was looking for.
