I am preparing to update my site from EE4 to EE5. Are there any guides or tips for how to update custom add-ons? I see ones for updating to v3 and to v4 but not to v5. The closest I’ve seen is the assurance that most add-ons will “just work”, but I’d like a more concrete list of any changes to watch for, if such a list exists.

There really isn’t much to worry about for custom add-ons going from 4-5, as the majority of the changes were related to making it open source. Which was a fair bit of code change, but didn’t pose issues for add-ons.

Weirdly, the biggest issue third parties ran into was the version number. There were some hard coded version checks that had to be changed to accommodate v5 in some add-ons. That’s the only thing that really stood out.

If you have any ee-harbor add-ons then be sure to upgrade them first before updating to EE5

Indeed- that was the version number issue. Pretty much all of there’s had to be updated because of it!
