hello, is there a way in ExpressionEngine to manage site menu items? for example, in drupal or in wordpress there is the possibility to add, remove and edit how many site menus you want, and then print them through the templating system. Is there anything similar in ExpressionEngine? for example in its core or through an additional module?

hello in fact there is no native menu manager in EE, but there are many good menu managers out there like “Structure” also, it is easy to make your own menu in the channels fields itself if you are familiar with the layout https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/templates/layouts.html#template-layouts

Nativ menu was an old request for EE team 😊

i use simple UL and LI lists in html as a template, and then embed the template in each page, say in a sidebar code…. then there is only one place to change nav code. it can be done creatively with dynamic links as well.

one could even keep the code contained in an editable post in a channel, say Misc Content. there many ways to do the same thing.

if you are new, it would help to learn how embedded templates work, as embedded template chunks of html can be edited in one place and used in many. one of the great features of EE.

a good example is the head tag code, or footer tag code, navigation code, any html code that is used repeatedly….

not sure where you’re at in your climb to the “lightbulb moment” with EE.

There is also https://buzzingpixel.com/software/construct and https://devot-ee.com/add-ons/navee (which works in EE4 and 5 I believe)
