Does anyone know if Protected Links works with ExpressionEngine 5? I asked the developer twice but I didn’t get any answers. Thanks

I’d say the odds are good, as it shows v4 compatibility and there were very few changes needed to add-ons going to v5. But, some add-ons had to make changes to handle the new version number, so I’m not betting my life on it.

Link Vault is another one worth checking on, though it too only confirms v4 compatibility.

I intend to use it to display the number of downloads for a file. For example, next to the “Download this file” button I want to see “this file has been downloaded x times”. I think Protected Links can do this, I’m not sure if Link Vault can.

I think it can re: https://gomasuga.com/software/link-vault/template-tags but I’m not sure which is best for what you want. I poked around to see if I had a copy to test and couldn’t find one. I’d try pinging the authors of each.

Hrm- wonder if you even need an add-on. I think it depends on why you want to track them, but Google Tags might do the trick. Check out: https://www.skylinetechnologies.com/Blog/Skyline-Blog/January_2017/How_to_track_PDF_downloads_using_Google_Tag_Manage

Thank you very much Robin, Yes, it seems that Link Vault can do it, but the same question remains regarding compatibility with v5
