Why is 'Allow EE Code' seemingly dangerous to use?

Perhaps not dangerous, but it seems to be a ‘not recommended’ method.

The only issue I can see why is that you are giving your client a green light to screw up the website. However, I have arrived to a difficult point where the client absolutely wants the ability to display a list of related type entries from within the entry - as in the middle of it… not at the beginning, or the end where it would be easier to code into the display template.

I do not see another way around that.

Thanks.

One solution for doing this is to use a Fluid field to construct content. That way you could use related entries fluid field so the author could select related links at any point in the content structure.

Fluid is definitely the way I’d go.

If you let content folks use tags in entries, they can do a lot. If everyone in the cp is a superadmin, you aren’t really adding to what they can do. But if someone has permission to just add entries in a single channel? They all of a sudden have the ability to output the data from any tag on the frontend.

Plus it’s just kind of ugly, you don’t want your content people having to worry about tags and variables and such. Make it easy for them.
