Hello,

I have just installed EE V5.3.0 for a new project and have come across an error i’ve never had in EE before…

I have created an image directory and synched it with the existing images which all display ok in the CMS’s image page.

The problem I’m having is trying to upload images to the directory it just gives me a white screen but the image has uploaded ok when I navigate back to the image page.

When I turn on error reporting I get ‘Cannot modify header information’…

Full Error:

Warning Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at ee/legacy/core/Exceptions.php:120)

ee/legacy/core/Input.php, line 238

Severity: E_WARNING

Any help would be greatly appreciated as nothing I’ve tried works :-(

Thank you so much in advance

Andrew

I’d check the PHP error logs- it sounds like something is going wrong. It also wouldn’t hurt to run the Server Wizard and make sure the environment passes.

I suspect it may be failing to make the thumbnail images- that could happen for a variety of reasons and hopefully there’s an error in the php logs.

Hello and thanks for the reply…

I have other sites on the same server without problems, I ran the compatibility test just to be sure and everything returned 100% compatible, I checked ‘Developer->Logs’ and there’s no errors reported at all.

I really don’t want to have to rebuild as I’ve spent 2 days setting up all the channels, fields and relationships.

Do you have any other ideas what may cause this at all?

Thanks

I don’t think this is it, but it’s always good to check. Disable extensions, see if it matters.

I suspect it won’t, in which case I wonder if it’s possible there was some file corruption during ftp? It’s rare, but it happens. Before digging too much, I’d download a fresh copy of EE, go into system, delete the ee folder and then upload a fresh one from your download. It won’t hurt to blow the dust out.

thanks again I did exactly that and still the problem exists

…update…

So i’ve just discovered this only happens when trying to upload images with names such as 1.jpg, 2.png etc. If the image has a name other than just 1 or 2 etc it works ok.
