Problems clearing image cache

I have bulk uploaded some optimized images via ftp. Despite clearing the site cache, the file directories are still displaying the old non-optimized images on the website.
I know I can click on Submit one image at a time to fix the problem, but I have hundreds of images. How do I clear those old image sizes in bulk?

You need to synchronize you images folder in the file manager

I did, but it didn’t change anything on the front end, even after clearing my browser history.
