We’ll definitely be addressing any issues as the arise.

Are you running into any specific compatibility related errors?

Hi Robin,

Thans for your reply !

No related compatibility errors for the moments. Just curious when EE 5 will support PHP 7.4, because of the nice new features as arrow functions…

Regards,

Happy New Year

Stéphane

just tried to run PHP 7.4.1 with EE 5.3.0, I get this warning which breaks controlpanel if full error output is turned on:

Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated
ee/legacy/core/Input.php, line 970
Severity: E_DEPRECATED

Hi Mark, thanks for the heads up! We’re looking at when we can get out an update as soon as possible. Looks like there are some issues!

Hi Robin,

in addition:

from PHP 7.2 on, mbstring.func_overload is deprecated, so if you got that enabled and set to a value of 6 (as per the EE docs), and you have full PHP error output enabled, then a PHP warning will appear front-end and back-end…

Any update on this issue? Getting similar errors after updating to PHP 7.4.4, and also like this:

Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is deprecated ee/legacy/libraries/simplepie/idn/idna_convert.class.php, line 377

I can roll back to an earlier version of PHP, but what version would that be?

Thanks, Jacl
