Apply more than one category by default in channel settings

I’m just wondering if there is there a way in the EE5 code I can allow more than one category to be applied by default to new channel entries in the Channel Manager ‘Settings’ tab?

I have a situation where ideally new entries in a channel would automatically have two categories ticked by default, but at the moment you can only apply one category in that way.
