I don’t think the Metaweblog API module works on the latest version.
It’s impossible to register with MS WORD for example (latest Office 365 version). If I tried to load the API URL it also complains about an error in the XML response.
Something seems wrong or broken. It worked fine in the previous versions.
When I open the URL on my browser I get the following result:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<methodResponse>
<fault>
<value>
<struct>
<member>
<name>faultCode</name>
<value><int>105</int></value>
</member>
<member>
<name>faultString</name>
<value><string>XML error: Invalid document end at line 1</string></value>
</member>
</struct>
</value>
</fault>
</methodResponse>
I was on EE version 3 before upgrading to the latest release. I deleted the accounts from Word and tried to re-add them using the same settings and it will not even allow me to register them back failing with an error and that I should contact my Metablog service provider.
It’s now 3 months and we cannot publish in the blog.
How hard can it be to just fix this? Why is EE offering a module that is broken and does not work anymore…?
This would not be such a big issue if there was another way to publish from MS Word, but this protocol (even while not the best one for blogs) is the only one officially supported or was since it does not work anymore. Other CMS multiple ones.
This and almost no third party addons that work with EE anymore is seriously making me consider moving to something more robust and supported. What good is a CMS on which I cannot even blog…that was once the main purpose of why people implemented Expression Engine, blogging. And now not even this is possible.
I downloaded another blog software that also supports the Metaweblog API and it does not work either.
I get Error 802 invalid access.
2 different apps, both do not work. This confirms its the Expression Engine module that is not working. Please remove this module from your documentations and software since its not work for 2 years now.
