Hi.
I’m the webmaster for an event site with an attached store.
I recently received a ticket that the store was applying state taxes to out-of-state shoppers, and not adding taxes to local shoppers.
I’m not overly familiar with Expression Engine, on top of that.
The only possible cause I can think of is that the site uses an outdated version of expression engine. The owners (and myself) are leery of updating the engine, because we don’t know what else that would break.
Is there anyone who can offer advice on what to do, or where to look for the cause?
Hi Buck,
The first thing to do is figure out what ecommerce add-on you’re using. It’s probably third party. When you go look at your sales in the ‘Add-ons’ section of the control panel, what’s the name of the add-on that is being used? Also, what version of ExpressionEngine is the site running- it should be in the footer. And while you’re there, what version of the Add-on is being used? It should so on the add-on listing page.
