Push notifications?

I have a project that could be greatly enhanced by using push notifications based on changes in content. I’m fairly certain there is no way to do this with EE natively but does anyone know of a 3rd party solution for EE that could efficiently create push notifications? Thanks.

Thanks Robin I’ll check this out but it doesn’t seem to have a way to send notifications based on changes in content, such as when a new entry is made that has certain criteria such as author, category or some other searchable criteria.
