How Do I?

I am trying to implement a system for my users to browse to an avatar folder and choose an existing one.

After going through the documentation, it states that we can upload our own to the avatars/default_set folder. Well, this is not included in the distribution; it has to be created. Done. Created it. Uploaded all the default avatars I want the users to be able to choose from.

There are NO options in the Avatar section of the CP settings that A) designate whether or not members can upload their own, which the documentation says should be available. (I mention this because when looking at my config file, there’s a line that states whether or not to allow uploads, and it was set to “y”. Literally no idea how it was put in there, or how I accessed it in the CP for it to write that to config.) There is NO option to designate a default set in the CP. There is also no documentation, that I could find anyway, saying how to implement this.

What I’m trying to achieve: Member visits their profile page. Rather than clicking on a button to upload their own (which I set to “n” in the config now), I want them to instead click on a button that will display the default avatars, have them choose one, and save it.

What am I missing? Help appreciated. Thanks! 😊

I’ve done the same exam, but the outcome is here (I see my avatar at last). Thank you for posting on this topic. Let’s see what other people are saying?
