[SOLVED] Bug Report: Default Site Templates - Logout From Overview Page

I have the default site templates installed on a test site, straight vanilla out of the box, no modifications. When I login to the site, I’m taken to the Overview page. From there, if I open the user menu (upper right corner) and choose “Log Out”, it doesn’t log me out, it just refreshes the Overview page and I’m seemingly stuck there.

From any other page in the CP (templates and channels are a couple I’ve tried, can’t say if they all work), the logout button works fine, but if you go back to the Overview screen and try it, it does not.

Cheers!

Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, I cannot replicate this. I did multiple fresh installs of 6.0.3 and tried to log out. All tries resulted in the expected result (see the recording here: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/3603857?key=65dbe23bf8c9d4b0c7e039e679bd0458 ).

Few things to help troubleshoot this:

  • Ensure that you are using 6.0.3 (which is the latest release)
  • Open Dev tools for your browser and see if that are any javascript errors or other console errors
  • Redownload EE and make sure that you have the complete Themes folder copied into your installation

In addition please let us know the following to help:

  • PHP version
  • Browser and version

thanks!

You’re a better man than I am, Andy - I didn’t even want to do one fresh install so I could study the default templates, and you did it multiple times! But you’re right, there must have been something weird going on with this computer. After your response I checked it on the laptop where I was (firefox latest version, win7) and it worked fine. Now I’m back home again and opened the same browser (firefox, latest version, win10) and it works fine now.

Perhaps something to do with me having 3 different ee sites open in that browser window for like 3 days… would it kill me to close the browser now and then? I don’t know, it might! 😊

Thanks for checking!
