More Validation Rules

Are there any plans to add more build in validation rules to Expression Engine in some future?

I know you can use regex to build custom ones, but personally I think the build in rules are a bit basic, I don’t think they changed in years as they are still the same from the old CodeIgniter framework. It certainly could use more rules in 2021.

It doesn’t have for example valid domain, or hostname, or valid phone number and many other things which could be useful for data validation and sanitization.

A great example of build in rules is the GUMP library on GitHub.
