Strange behaviour for View Today's Active Topics?

If there are no new posts since my last visit, or if I have clicked ‘Mark All Post As Read, nothing will show up when I click ‘View Today’s Active Topics’. Shouldn’t I still be able to see the active topics? I mean the topics are still active even if I’ve marked them as read.

To me a ‘View Today’s Active Topics’ feature means showing topics with new posts withing the last 24 hours, no matter if I’ve read them or not. Maybe others are of another opinion on this?
