those poor folks who don’t keep backups.
Yep that would be me as you know Mr T!! 😊

P.S. Thanks for mentioning my name about the resize thing although maybe Mark could let us know exactly what I have done there and whether or not it is causing any other problems behind the scenes at all?
The error seems to be in the part of the code where File fetches the max_height and max_width from the module preferences – it’s not pulling back the set values, even if those are blank or greater than 500, so it’s using the default, which is 500/700.
I couldn’t figure it out, so I disabled the resizing code by just commenting it out.

I’m looking for a way to set single or multiple uploads per weblog. I saw a feature request on page 6 or 7 for it but I couldn’t find any responses for that request. I’ve got an instance where I’d like to limit a users ability to get into trouble by uploading multiple images. I know I could just not display the multiple images on the front end but I’d prefer to be able to set it in the admin.
I guess the other option would be to duplicate the extension and create a ext.file_single and therefore create a second field type where the settings were set for single file uploads only.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Erm I’m having issues with 2.1.2 as well, getting an error thrown when I try to upload:
Error The filetype of the field ‘courses_gallery’ was not allowed, please make sure it is an image.Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/php_upload/phphiCoDf) is not within the allowed path(s) in /home/ki/kir/kirradive.com/public/www/system/extensions/ext.file.php on line 494 Warning: getimagesize(/tmp/php_upload/phphiCoDf) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /home/ki/kir/kirradive.com/public/www/system/extensions/ext.file.php on line 494
I figure my best bet is to revert to 2.1.0 as suggested - can someone upload it hear so others can use it as well? Thanks!
Alright, for anyone still following this thread, I have a beta of version 3.0.0 up on my site. You can grab it here: http://docs.markhuot.com/ee/extensions/file/. Enjoy!
Mark - I just revisted this thread after having some issues with files with spaces in them and I noticed that version 3 has a clean files option that will solve this problem.
I’ve just enabled the extension though and there is no settings section in the extensions page as there was previously? Any ideas?
Ah my mistake - I see the parameters now have been moved to the Image Properties tag rather than a settings section.
Do you know of a hack that when using the clean_filename option that it could remove & symbols as well? I’m using phpThumb with my images and I just came across a problem where a filename had spaces and an & symbol in the name. Using clean_file_names it removed the spaces, but phpThumb was still getting caught up on the & symbol expecting that there sure be a phpThumb centric parameter after it.
