Need help:

Occurs sometimes on certain PCs. Users attempting to submit their data via the Freeform created form get this Error message:

The following errors were encountered • You are not authorized to perform this action

What do you think could be occurring here? Any suggestions of what could be causing this error?

This is version 2.3.4 of the Freeform Module and the EE version is 1.4.2.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

-Matt

I experienced the same problem today (EE: latest version, Freeform: latest version) and eventually disabling the Blacklist module solved it. Any thoughts from Solspace?

Same problem here, just for AOL users. I can’t find an AOL IP in the blacklist, but I need to test if this works.

Is there a way to disable the blacklist without obliterating it? I just want to turn it off, not remove the module completely.

Same problem here on a client site. Some visitors get the message “You are not authorized to perform this action”. Most of the visitors don’t have this kind of message.

Could it be a sort of problem with cookies?

I had the problem myself to send the form. After deleting all exp_… cockies it worked for one time. Then I used Firefox for the cp and IE to test the form. This way I had no problems at all. I’m not sure what’s going on.

Any idea Mitchell (from Solspace)?

Same problem and we’ve noticed all the complaints are from AOL users.

Our client forwarded this angry email and I’m posting it because mean people suck!

Thanks for responding - get on that IT team!! Even if they just change the message to “Sorry, your request cannot be honored at this time.” is better than “You are not Authorized”. Better yet, don’t enable the darn link until it works. I can’t tell you how upsetting that was - it makes you guys look stupid (inability for a customer to retrieve data and the message itself) and it frustrated my decision-making process. The sales person I talked with that day in the store was sincere, but did not know enough about your product to convince me to buy, even though I was prepared to do so.
