Updated the extension to version 1.1

This version adds the following:

  • support for the “Pages” tab
  • support for the “Tag” tab (part of Solspace’s Tag module)
  • now works properly when clicking the “Publish” tab (instead of a weblog from the menu)

Download link

Any more modules out there that add tabs to the Publish page? 😉

Cocoaholic, I tried using this on my local install, and when I try to change the drop down list boxes for my individual weblogs, the changes don’t save.

It’s the only extension I have activated.

Any ideas?

Hi Sue,

It’s a very simple extension, nothing special going on when saving settings. Did it install correctly?

Could you check your exp_extensions table and post what’s in the ‘settings’ field?

It’s working fine for me on the latest EE build on multiple servers…

Get any PHP warnings?

Hello! Just wanted to add my thanks to Cocoaholic for this excellent extension, which I successfully downloaded and installed in a flash. Also, I love your profile image! You’d probably like Russel Brand’s website too - for fun eye following bizness. http://www.russellbrand.tv/

Cocoaholic, it’s great to have you in this community. I wanted to simplify the publish form, so I change the weblogs publish form preferences with “Publish Page Customization”, the only thing it’s missing for me is “Show All as default”. When I found your extension I thought I was saved, but it doesn’t work for me, I have EE 1.6.4, Tab Forward (v.1.1) downloaded today.

It seems to enable ok, and going to settings it shows the options, but it doesn’t save changes when I submit.

Any thoughts?

The extension has been tested and works fine with EE 1.6.4. There could be a conflict with another extension though, what other extensions are you using?

Cocoaholic,

Neat plugin.. Just found it now. Good idea for a plugin. And just out of curiosity, have you ever considered making it so you can even hide tabs from particular weblogs to not even show up at all? I’d actually prefer it my editors not even touch the date tabs and for that matter, a slew of other things. Not that I don’t trust their judgement or anything, but you never know..

You can turn tabs off, see: “Weblog Management” -> “Edit Preferences” -> “Publish Page Customization”
