freeform form creation

another newbie question. How do you create a freeform form? I’ve made up a form, run it, it doesn’t show up in my freeform forms list, it is missing a field (which is probably because freeform didn’t formerly create the form in the first place.
You need to create all the fields that you are going to use, the form as such will be created the first time you use it.

Formhelper is another Solspace plugin. Serves a slightly different purpose, though. Freeform fields are created through the module’s control panel.
perhaps that’s my problem at this point. Where is the freeform control panel located?
